“The lost bear cub found a home — and we found love.”
One late afternoon, as our family was driving home after a picnic in the countryside, we came across a sight that froze us in silence — a tiny bear cub crawling weakly across the road, trembling, crying out as if pleading for help.
No one knew where it came from, but its fragile body and frightened eyes made it clear that it had lost its mother and was desperately seeking kindness.
At first, we thought of driving away, but the more we tried to shoo it off, the closer it came, staring at us with eyes full of fear and hope. When my husband knelt down to take a closer look, the cub suddenly grabbed his hand and began to suckle frantically, like a starving baby clinging to the only comfort it could find. The moment broke our hearts — we knew we couldn’t leave it there.
Without hesitation, we lifted it into the car and brought it home. Once there, I quickly mixed some corn powder with warm water in a small basin and offered it to the cub. It drank eagerly, holding onto the little bowl with trembling paws, as if afraid someone might take it away — a scene both touching and bittersweet.
When it was full, we bathed it gently and placed it under the warm afternoon sun on the porch. Sitting on a thin cloth, it suddenly raised its tiny paw toward the camera, as if greeting us — so smart, so alive, it made everyone laugh in surprise and joy.
From that day on, the cub played around the yard, followed us into the garden, and even bonded with our daughter. The next morning, I began to feed it milk from a bottle; it held the bottle tightly, eyes half-closed, face calm and content — just like a real baby.
Sometimes, we took it to the forest, hoping to find its mother, but we never did. Yet, it grew fast — strong, gentle, and playful, never once harming us. Despite its size, its heart remained pure, curious, and full of affection.
Now, that once-lost cub has become a cherished member of our family. It taught us that
kindness can turn a fleeting encounter into a lifelong bond of love.
