“Sometimes, friendship begins with a single look through the window…”
One quiet evening, I forgot to close the kitchen window.
As I walked by, a tiny owl stood there on the windowsill, staring silently inside — I had no idea how long it had been there.
Its big round eyes shimmered under the light, and I could almost feel the hunger and fear hidden behind that fragile little body.
I slowly approached and placed a small piece of meat nearby.
In a flash, it snatched the food like a clumsy little thief, making me laugh out loud. It was so adorable.
The next day, I opened the window — and there it was again, waiting quietly in the same spot.
From then on, it became a regular visitor, coming to my window day after day to ask for food.
It was still very young — too small to hunt on its own, and probably without its mother’s care.
At first, it was cautious, stealing food and flying away instantly.
But over time, it began to trust me.
One day, when I reached out my hand, it didn’t fly away. I gently stroked its head, and it closed its eyes in calm acceptance.
From that day, it was no longer just a visitor — it became my dear little companion.
I brought it inside, bathed it, played with it, and took it outside for walks.
Every time I returned home, it would perch on my shoulder and nuzzle against my cheek.
And in those simple moments, I felt true happiness —
because somewhere between us, a fragile creature had found trust and love. 🦉💛
