That day, we went swimming together in a quiet river near the edge of the forest.
The water was clear as glass, reflecting the soft golden light of the setting sun. Birds sang in the distance, and the gentle ripples against the shore created a peaceful, almost magical feeling.
While we were swimming, a tiny figure drifted toward us.
At first, we were startled, but soon realized it was a baby otter — small, soaked, trembling, with wide, innocent eyes. What touched us most was that it wasn’t afraid at all. Instead, it swam straight into our arms and clung tightly, as if it somehow knew we would keep it safe.
We looked around, but there was no sign of its mother. Maybe it had been separated by the river’s current. Our hearts ached at the sight. Gently, we lifted it out of the water, wrapped it in a small cloth bag to keep it warm, and took it home.
From that day on, the little otter became a cherished member of our family.
Its adorable face, bright eyes, and playful spirit won everyone’s heart. It followed us everywhere — whenever we were out of sight, it would wander through the house, calling softly as if searching for us.
Now, we live happily together.
We share our meals, play together, sleep side by side, and sometimes return to that same river — the place where it all began — to swim and splash just like the first day.
It’s incredible how a tiny creature from the wild could fill our home with so much warmth, joy, and love. 🦦💧
