This girl rescued a weak rainbow lorikeet lying on the road, and then

“Sometimes, love takes wings — and even when it flies away, it always finds its way back to where kindness began.”

It was a peaceful afternoon in a quiet little town. A young woman was out for a walk, enjoying the cool breeze and golden sunlight, when she suddenly came across a heartbreaking scene.

On the road lay a rainbow lorikeet — still, weak, barely breathing. Beside it stood another lorikeet, frantically trying to wake its companion. It nudged, pecked, and even used its tiny feet to tap on the other bird’s chest again and again — as if performing CPR. The sight was almost too painful to watch.

The poor bird let out sorrowful cries, refusing to leave. They must have been a loving pair, bound by an unspoken bond even in suffering. The young woman gasped, whispering, “Oh my God…” before rushing over. She gently lifted the injured lorikeet, placed it in a small cardboard box, and drove straight to the nearest veterinary clinic.

There, the vet checked its condition, cleaned its feathers, gave it a small injection, and assured her that it would recover soon. Relieved, she took it home, wrapped it in a soft towel, and gently bathed it with warm water. She dried its feathers with a hairdryer, massaged its tiny body, and used a small syringe to feed it drops of food and water.

Exhausted, the bird fell asleep in her hands — peaceful and safe. By the next day, it had regained its strength, hopping joyfully around her living room. The girl couldn’t help but laugh — its bright feathers glowed again, and its chirps filled her home with life.

Over the following days, they became inseparable. The little lorikeet followed her everywhere, perched on her shoulder, chirping sweetly whenever she played music. She even painted a portrait of it and hung it on her wall — a token of their short but precious bond.

Yet deep down, she knew it still had someone waiting. So one morning, she carried it to her garden and opened her hands. It hesitated for a long while — looking back at her one last time — and then spread its wings and flew away into the open sky.

She smiled through tears, thinking their story had ended. But two months later, she woke up to a chorus of chirps outside her window. When she stepped out, she froze in awe — dozens, perhaps hundreds of rainbow lorikeets filled her garden. And there it was — her little friend — back again, this time with its mate, its family, and an entire flock that had chosen her garden as home.

In that moment, she realized: kindness never fades — it always finds its way back, brighter than before. 🌈💛
